Wonder Woman named UN honorary ambassador 1

The United Nations celebrated Wonder Woman's 75th birthday on Oct. 25 by naming the comic book superheroine as its new honorary ambassador for the empowerment of women and girls.

The announcement provoked concerns even from inside the global organization. Many claimed the position should have been given to a real figure, not a comic character.
